Join me for a beginning writing class with sight word practice! In this three-day class, students will learn four new sight words each day and use that knowledge (plus knowledge of letters and sounds) to write complete sentences with me! In each class, we will start by learning and practicing each sight word through reading, writing, repetition, and movement. I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and am certified in EC-6 (Early Childhood through 6th grade) and ESL (English as a Second Language) . I taught kindergarten for four years, and I have experience in and a passion for teaching a variety of elementary skills. During my time as a teacher, I have worked with elementary students of all ages through whole class, small group, and one-on-one settings. I am excited to use my knowledge to teach your learner in a fun way! Thank you for considering me as an Outschool teacher for your child!
2 files available upon enrollmentFor the full experience, students should have something readily available to write with (ex: paper and pencil/pen/crayon, whiteboard and dry-erase marker, magic doodle board, etc.) to participate in the handwriting portion of the class. I will include a few print-out options for your learner to use in this sentence-writing class if you choose to use them. I strongly recommend having some sort of writing tools for this class, since it is a writing class and we will be writing together throughout the class. However, I always welcome all learners into my classroom!
Since this is a class for young learners, I just ask that a parent or guardian be around during the lesson videos to help if/when needed (example: if your learner needs help with a technical issue in order to see/hear and be seen/heard). Thank you for your support!
