課堂經歷
In this 1:1 class, your student will know what Mindfulness is and how we can all individually add it into our lives. When we are living in the future we tend to be anxious and when we are living in the past we tend to be depressed. We will discuss how we can practice being more present in our daily lives. Students will learn about the basics of Meditation and how these skills can help our bodies. We will practice new ways to Meditate so that students can find the ways that work best for them. My teaching style is to meet my students where they are and meet their needs. I try to add some humor and always compassion. I understand how difficult it can be for students to work with someone they do not know. I try my best to help students feel comfortable while learning skills that I hope will help them become the best version of themselves. Some topics we will cover each week are What is Mindfulness, How can Mindfulness help my life, Self regulation, How can we practice Mindfulness in my life?, What does Meditation do for our bodies, How do we Meditate?, Coping skills related to Mindfulness and Self regulation.

I am a licensed clinical social worker with a certification in trauma therapy. I have my masters in social work and my bachelors in social work. I have worked in several different settings and have a background in the following; in home ABA therapy, domestic violence, therapist at a therapeutic day school, clinical therapist at an inpatient hospital, and private practice therapy. My specialty is trauma, disordered eating and anxiety disorders. I have significant experience working with children and adolescents who struggle with anxiety.
I thoroughly enjoy making curriculum and teaching. I enjoy working with kids and feel it is the best preventative work we can do. Let's add these skills now while they are young!
