What will be taught? In this course, students will strengthen core executive functioning skills, including time management, task initiation, focus, self-monitoring, and emotional regulation. They’ll learn strategies to overcome procrastination, improve study habits, manage tasks, and set achievable goals. The goal is to empower students with tools for academic and personal success, skills that are vital for their long-term development. What topics will you cover? Each lesson focuses on one or more aspects of executive functioning, with topics such as: Time management techniques Breaking down large tasks Staying focused and avoiding distractions Setting and achieving goals Developing organizational habits Managing emotional responses to challenges Prioritization of tasks Study techniques for improved retention Managing procrastination Flexible thinking and adapting to changes How is your class structured? The class is designed as a weekly, 30-minute session, spanning over 5 weeks (can be extended based on demand). Each class will include an interactive discussion, a brief lecture, group activities, and an application exercise or game that reinforces the skill taught. Homework will be minimal but will focus on practical applications in daily routines. How I teach? I will use a multi-modal approach to cater to different learning styles, incorporating: Slides to introduce and explain concepts. Video clips and short animations to visualize ideas. Interactive games like time-management challenges and focus-building exercises. Role-playing to practice real-life scenarios like preparing for exams or organizing tasks. What’s my teaching style? My teaching style is engaging and student-centered. I aim to make each lesson interactive, so students actively participate through discussion, activities, and self-reflection.
