This ongoing class provides a supportive environment where teens can learn and practice essential social skills, ensuring they thrive in various social settings. In this class, students will cover a wide range of topics, including: Building Confidence: Techniques to boost self-esteem and present oneself confidently. Effective Communication: Skills for clear expression, active listening, and respectful dialogue. Making Friends: Strategies to initiate and maintain meaningful friendships, understand social cues, and develop empathy. Conflict Resolution: Tools to handle disagreements and resolve conflicts peacefully. Digital Etiquette: Tips for maintaining respectful and safe online interactions. Growth Mindset The class format includes lessons that do not build on each other, and no prior knowledge from previous weeks is required. Students may join at any time. Classes are interactive and feature fun, engaging lessons where participation is encouraged. Activities include role-playing, group discussions, and practical exercises, ensuring that teens not only learn the theory but also apply it in real-life scenarios. With over 20 years of teaching experience, including social-emotional teacher training, I bring extensive expertise to these one-on-one social skills sessions. Throughout my career, I've taught whole group sessions on social emotional learning and done one on work.
I've worked closely with students with ADHD, autism, and various learning disabilities, tailoring instruction to meet their individual needs. In addition, I've worked with students who just need a boost to their confidence or have some specific social skills that need some sharpening.
