This interactive bootcamp is designed to help students develop essential executive function skills that will make school less stressful and more manageable. Through engaging discussions, real-life strategies, and hands-on activities, students will learn how to stay on top of their work and feel more in control of their learning. 📚 What Will Be Taught? This course focuses on practical executive function skills, including: ✔️ Time Management – Using planners, setting priorities, and estimating task completion times. ✔️ Organization – Keeping track of assignments, using checklists, and managing digital files. ✔️ Study Skills – Active reading strategies, note-taking techniques, and test preparation tips. ✔️ Task Initiation & Focus – How to start tasks without procrastination and stay engaged. ✔️ Self-Advocacy & Motivation – Learning to ask for help, set personal goals, and stay motivated. 📅 How Is the Class Structured? This bootcamp meets once per week for 6 weeks. Each session includes: 📝 A mini-lesson on an executive function skill 💡 Interactive activities (guided practice, role-playing, and problem-solving scenarios) 🗣️ Group discussions to share experiences and strategies 📖 Real-life applications so students can immediately use what they learn ✅ Personalized tips & feedback to help each student apply strategies in their own way 🎯 Teaching Style & Student Interaction I use a structured yet flexible approach that ensures students feel encouraged, engaged, and supported. Lessons are highly interactive and designed to be neurodivergent-friendly, meaning students will have multiple ways to participate and engage. Students will interact through: ✔️ Discussion-based learning – Sharing experiences and brainstorming strategies ✔️ Guided practice – Hands-on application of strategies (e.g., setting up a planner) ✔️ Collaborative activities – Small-group problem-solving and planning challenges ✔️ Gamification – Fun memory strategies, habit trackers, and study challenges This class is perfect for students with ADHD, executive functioning challenges, or those who simply need better study habits!
