The Logic Club is all about putting your brain to the test. Just as an athlete needs to work all the muscles in their body, a true, logical thinker needs to work all parts of the brain. Most of the challenges in the club will be interactive, group challenges. Some puzzles will involve some sort of competition ranging from smaller groups from within the club to even individual challenges. There will also be an opportunity for member submissions. You can put me to the test with the rest of the group. This club will rotate on a 4 week cycle with the weekly themes listed below. However, each cycle will have new and different challenges. If you are not sure about what each word or phrase below means on the schedule, don't worry about a thing! Each week all the challenges will be explained fully. Theme 1 - Codes & Cryptograms Theme 2 - Number/Picture Problems (examples - KenKen, Kydoku, Sukoku, and more) Theme 3 - General Logic Problems (examples - Star Battles, Bridges, Logic Grids, and more) Theme 4 - Word/Number Puzzles (examples - Secret Word, Crostics, Fill-ins, Frame works, Magic Square, and more) Repeat categories with different puzzles every 4 weeks.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Florida Teaching Certificate in Social Studies/History
I have always been very curious and creative and I love to inspire it in kids (both my own and others) as well. I like to teach through projects, which give students a choice on the way they learn and show their understanding. I also love to teach through games and like to combine game elements in my classes.
I believe history, studied in context, to be extremely important. In fact, it's one of our best teachers. The other "subject" I believe to be of high importance is Logic. Unfortunately, logic has long been left off most curriculums. Knowing how to examine events and history through logical thinking and analysis gives us a deep, true understanding of our world.
I'm a big believer in every parent having all the need to school their children all the way through high school. So, if you are ever in doubt, let me encourage you.
My educational consulting company, It's A Potsick Education, exists to build up curious, creative learners. I do custom content/lesson design, private, online events, consulting, and more. Message me for anything you need.
I was a classroom teacher in the public schools for over 15 years and, for the past 14 years, have been helping my wife homeschool as well. I currently hold state certifications in Florida (certificate # 960883) in the areas of Middle Grades Social Science and Language Arts and Elementary Education. I have extensive classroom experience with all Elementary and Middle Grades subject content and have done private tutoring for many years in Math, Civics, Science, and Language Arts.
Contact me anytime to share any classes you would like me teach, for classes you really wanted to take, but didn't fit your schedule, or any feedback.
