US Grade Kindergarten - 3
In this class we will learn the different hands on the clock (minute and hour). We will also learn how to read a digital and analog clock. To begin class I will tell the students a story about the "Clock Family." The characters in the clock family all have a job and will help us remember how to read an analog clock. In the story the students will meet the big brother, little brother, and the silly grandpa who likes to play tricks on his grandchildren (Don't we all have a silly family member). After hearing the story the student will help me use the information in the story to read the time on an analog clock. After we do a few problems together the students will practice reading the clocks on their own. They will practice writing the time on a digital clock and they will also practice drawing the clock hands on an analog clock. The students will talk about what time they do different things throughout the day and start their own daily schedule using the analog and digital clocks on the book (I will link the book pages to be printed off). We will start the book in class and students will finish their books after class. You can print as many pages as your child needs to talk about their day.
