Weekly worksheets will be provided every Sunday. Students will receive two worksheets (one to go along with each class).Assessment
There are worksheets that go along with each class. We will do the top of the worksheet together in class, while the bottom can be completed independently (or with parent assistance). The weekly worksheets will allow parents to get an ongoing assessment of how their child is doing in class. Each week I also send additional worksheets that can be used to continue the lesson at home. Please note that the additional worksheets are often lesson extenders.Class Experience
US Grade 2
In this ongoing class, students will gather together to learn different numeracy concepts and skills! Students in class should have a very good understanding of numbers 0-100 and should have a basic understanding of 0-1000 (though they do not need to have them mastered- we will work on that together). This is an ongoing class so you are able to join whenever you like! This class will consist of learning through group discussion, interactive slides, and hands on learning (there will be a worksheet that goes along with each class that will be sent every Sunday along with the weekly message). If you are unable to print the worksheets that is not a problem, just make sure your little learner has a pencil and paper or a felt/whiteboard! Schedule will be similar to the following: 1. Greeting/How are you? Students will say hello to the teacher and one another. 2. Students will work on the math concept of the week. Teacher and students will discuss the concept, and the teacher will demonstrate on the whiteboard/computer. 3. Students will get to practice the concept in a fun an engaging way (interactive slides). 4. Teacher will go over the worksheet that goes along with the class content. Often (as long as time permits) we will complete the top half of the worksheet in class. The bottom half will be for students to practice on their own. 5. Goodbye/ See you next time! Students will work on different math skills including (but not limited to) skip counting by 2's, 5's, 10's dealing with numbers 0-1000, number recognition 0 - 1000, shapes and attributes, addition, subtraction, measurement and data, place value, money, clocks, and comparisons using <, >. =. Please note that while each week we will focus on a different skill, additional skills will always be practiced. For example, when working to tell the time in 5 minute intervals, students will also practice skip counting by 5's along with addition and subtraction.
