Weekly worksheets will be provided every Sunday. Students will receive two worksheets (one to go along with each class).Assessment
There are worksheets that go along with each class. We will do the top of the worksheet together in class, while the bottom can be completed independently (or with parent assistance). The weekly worksheets will allow parents to get an ongoing assessment of how their child is doing in class. Each week I also send additional worksheets that can be used to continue the lesson at home. Please note that the additional worksheets are often lesson extenders.Class Experience
US Grade 1
In this ongoing class, students will gather together to learn different numeracy concepts and skills! Students in class should be familiar with their numbers 1-100 (though they do not need to have them mastered- we will work on that together). This is an ongoing class so you are able to join anytime and the weekly worksheets will be sent every Sunday. If you are unable to print the worksheets that is not a problem, just make sure your little learner has a pencil and paper or a felt/whiteboard! (All students should have paper and pencil or a whiteboard/marker for each class). 1. Greeting/How are you? Students will say hello to the teacher and one another. 2. Students will work on the math concept of the week. Teacher and students will discuss the concept, and the teacher will demonstrate on the whiteboard/computer. 3. Students will get to practice the concept in a fun an engaging way (interactive slides). 4. Teacher will go over the worksheet that goes along with the class content. Often (as long as time permits) we will complete the top half of the worksheet in class. The bottom half will be for students to practice on their own. There will also be an extra page that goes along with each class that students can complete after class if they wish. They extra sheet will have similar questions to the ones done in class, and may also have some questions that are a little more challenging for students who want to extend their learning. 5. Questions: The teacher will answer any questions the students may have about the weekly topic / worksheet. 6:Goodbye/ See you next time! Students will work on different math skills including (but not limited to) counting starting from 1, counting starting and stopping at random numbers, skip counting by 2's, 5's, 10's, number recognition, shapes, addition, subtraction, patterns, size, and comparisons. Please note that while each week we will focus on a different skill, additional skills will always be practiced. For example, when working to subitize, students may also work on counting, adding, subtracting or when we talk about numbers between 1 and 100 we will also talk about place value. ******************************2024 / 2025 SCHEDULE************************************** March 31 - April 6: Data (Tallies) April 7 – April 13: Data (Bar Graph) April 14 – April 20: Telling Time to the Hour April 21 - April 27: Telling Time to the Half Hour April 28 - May 4: Telling Time to the Hour and Half Hour May 5 - May 11: Telling Time Word Problems May 12 - May 18: Shape Attributes May 19 - May 25: Splitting Shapes (Introduction to Fractions) REVIEW ESSNENTIAL CONCEPTS May 26 - June 1: Place Value June 2 - June 8: 2-Digit Addition June 9 - June 15: 2-Digit Subtraction June 16 – June 22: Measurement June 23 - June 29: Data June 30 - July 6: Time July 7 - July 13: Shapes ******************************2025 / 2026 SCHEDULE************************************** OPERATIONS AND ALGERBRAIC THINKING (ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION) September September 8 – September 14: Addition with Pictures / Stories September 15 – September 21: Addition with a 10 frame and number line September 22 – September 28: Addition by Counting on October September 29 – October 5: Adding 3 Numbers Together October 6 - October 12: Finding the Missing Number October 13 - October 19: Subtraction with Pictures / Stories October 20 - October 26: Subtraction with a Number Line October 27 – November 2: Subtraction Counting Up and/or Back November November 3 - November 9: Find the Missing Number November 10 – November 16: Understanding the Relationship Between Addition and Subtraction November 17 – November 23: Understanding the Relationship Between Addition and Subtraction WORKING WITH PLACE VALUE, REGROUPING, AND COMPARING NUMBERS November 24– November 30: Place Value December December 1 – December 7: Adding 10 December 8 – December 14: Subtracting 10 December 15 - December 21: Place Value (adding and subtracting) December 22 – January 4: No classes.
