US Grade 5 - 8
We’ll first do an ice breaker question about traditional songs and then work through a power point about the early explorers who tried to find the Northwest Passage. The Northwest Passage was a shipping route they were looking for to go up and around North America faster. After that we’ll look at the lyrics for the song, work through vocabulary the students might not be familiar with, and sing it together (if there’s time).
Learning Goals
By the end of this course students will be able to better understand the song The Northwest Passage.
Students will understand how it was like to be an explorer in the 1800s and early 1900s.
