What's included

6 live meetings
4 in-class hours
Homework
1 hour per week. Students will be assigned part of the essay to write for the first five weeks. The final week I will assign an essay topic for them to write the whole essay (a 4-5 paragraph essay).
Assessment
When students finish homework and turn them in I will read them and give them some helpful feedback so their writing can improve.
Grading
I can offer grades if specifically requested. Grades will be percentage grades. 100% is a perfect score. Grading will depend on how hard the student works and how much they improve over the course. I'll only give one score: a final score at the end of the course (at the end of the 6 weeks).

Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 10
Each class we’ll focus on a specific part of essay writing: brainstorming, planning the essay, writing the introductory paragraph, writing the body, writing the conclusion, and putting it all together. We’ll start with some examples and then discuss how we can write that particular part of the essay. I have a list of essay topics that we'll work from and I have a power point put together for each class. Part of the class will be discussion: discussing the essay topic we are working on and brainstorming together.
Learning Goals
By the end of the six weeks, students will be able to write a four to five paragraph essay: from start to finish.
