- By the end of the class, students will have a good grasp on what lighthouses are, why they were built, how they were built, and about the people who worked in them.
I have read several books about lighthouses and am fascinated with them and the lighthouse keepers who lived in them. I have visited one and had a wonderful tour of it.
If students have a Lighthouse Passport book, they should bring it for show and tell.
Some of the historical pictures are from the book: Lightships and Lighthouses by Frederick A. Talbot, published in 1913.
