US Grade 2 - 4
This class we will go through the history of lighthouses: from how and why they were built, to the amazing lighthouse keepers who took care of them, and to why they aren't used anymore. I'll be using a powerpoint that has pictures (some historical and some I took from a lighthouse I visited) and we'll discuss what it would be like to have worked in a lighthouse (including a daily routine). I'll share about my own experience visiting a lighthouse and students are also allowed to share about any lighthouses they have visited.
Learning Goals
By the end of the class, students will have a good grasp on what lighthouses are, why they were built, how they were built, and about the people who worked in them.
