We’ll first do an ice breaker question about Christmas songs and then talk about the history of the song. Since this song is about sleigh rides, we’ll talk about horses, bells on the horses, snow, and winter. We'll also talk about the challenges of going anywhere in the winter in the days before cars. At the end of class we’ll sing the song together.
Learning Goals
By the end of this course students will be able to better understand the Christmas song Jingle Bells.
Students will gain an appreciation for cars and how much easier it is to travel nowadays than when this song was written.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in English from The Master's College
My name is Miss Rachel. I'm married to a wonderful man, Charlie, and we have three lovely children (whom we are homeschooling). Being an avid reader, I love teaching literature and writing. I have also written a number of children's books and a children's newspaper too. Learning should be fun and classes shouldn't be too long so students can enjoy the class better. My hobbies include exploring, nature, traveling, arts and crafts, going to the beach, and I have lived overseas a number of years before this.
