In this class, learners can expect one-on-one lessons with a professional violinist. Classes will be tailored to your individual levels, and repertoire will be recommended based on previous experience - although absolute beginners are more than welcome as well! In addition to offering tips for maintaining good posture and tone, I will be working with you to meet your goals on the violin. I believe that music making should be fun, and will offer an environment that is positive, encouraging, and appropriately challenging.
Learning Goals
Students will review the parts of the violin, the basics of good posture, and how to make a beautiful sound on the instrument.Other Details

Students will need a violin and bow, shoulder rest, rosin, and an electronic tuner.

Hello! I'm a violin teacher on Outschool, and am looking forward to offering classes here! I am a violinist and educator in BC's Okanagan region, playing regularly with the Okanagan and Kamloops Symphonies. Prior to that, I was Principal 2nd Violinist in the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra.
I have over 8 years of classroom teaching experience, as well as over 14 years of experience teaching private lessons for students ages 4-50! Since April 2020, I have been teaching private lessons online through Zoom as well. I believe that learning music should be fun, and have developed my own methods tailored to students' needs. I teach mostly classical music, but like to incorporate some popular tunes based on students' interests.
I hold a Master of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance/Music Ed from McGill University. I am a licensed ECE, with a Diploma in Early Years Education from the University of British Columbia.Reviews
