Assignments
4+ hours per week. Assignments will be made depending on each student's difficulties and progress during the week. Assignments will be very specific and individual to each student's needs and playing goals.
Assessment
At the end of the class, we always review what was covered in that week, what we worked on class as top priorities, and what will need to be completed by the next lesson.

Class Experience

Intermediate Level
We will work on an assignment - performance model. The student will be assigned scale exercises, technical etudes, musical repertoire and technically specific exercises to practice weekly on their own and bring to class. During the lesson, the student will receive feedback on his progress and playing, and will be assigned new material for the next week, in a progressive manner. During class, the student will receive specific tutoring to improve what still is lacking for this week, and the assignment for the next week will be based on what was covered in lesson. For this style, my teaching method is more in a conservatoire model; the student work on his assignments and his technical/musical material at home during his practice time, and presents it during the lesson. The lesson serves as a review and feedback on what was done and a place for assigning new material for improevement, as well as guidance on how to practice the new material and for how long. The target audience for this class is violin students who already have a basic knowledge of the instrument and posture, and want to further develop their technique in a more wide and comprehensive manner.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music from Universidade Federal do Paraná
I have been a teacher for intermediate level students for 5 years already, both in the US and Brazil. I have had many students in Brazil who advanced positions in youth orchestras after having lessons with me, and won auditions for the regional orchestra of my city. I was a coach for the local youth orchestra and have had contact with many students that sought me for specific technical and musical tutoring sessions.
