Ages 3-8

Assignments
2-4 hours per week. Assignments will be made depending on each student's and parent's difficulties and progress during the week. Assignments will be very specific and individual to each family's needs, availability and goals.
Assessment
At the end of the class, we always review what was covered in that week, what we worked on in class as top priorities, and what will need to be completed by the next lesson.

Class Experience

Beginner Level
My online tutoring sessions for young toddlers is divided into two segments. Each class will have a tutoring moment for the parent, and one moment for the child. It is done this way so that the parent can further supervise and correct the child at home during week during his practice, since young children aged 3-8 don't have the cognitive autonomy to practice and remember it all declaratively by themselves at that age. The parent learns faster, so in the first lessons he will learn the proper violin posture to guide the child, as well as basic sound production and finger placement on the instrument. After the parent has reviewed the basic concepts on the violin, we start dividing the lesson for the student to have his moment. The child will learn in a step-by-step manner, more slowly, from the basic posture concepts through the first songs in the Suzuki Violin Book One Method. The parent is always learning ahead and having his section during class, so that after the lesson is over, the parent can instruct and guide/correct the child during the week's practice at home. This method has been proven to work with great results from many violin instructors throughout the world, and is the main foundation of the Suzuki teaching philosophy for children, currently the most utilized violin method globally.

Learning Goals

Basic violin and bow posture
Basic tone production on the instrument

Supply List
The student graduates this class when either;
1) The student becomes old enough and independent enough to practice and learn by himself, passing then to the regular violin or viola one-on-one tutoring sessions.
2) The student gains autonomy with the instrument and progresses enough in the Suzuki Violin literature to be able to start and finish the lesson completely by himself, with the parent only writing down assignments and review points for the week. By that point the student also is recommended to switch to the regular violin/viola lessons for beginners.
