Description
Class Experience
Students will learn basic pedagogy as pertaining to the violin and beginning piano. They will learn to read music, and also play by ear. Students will learn to play scales, rhythms, classical, fiddle, popular, folk, rock, and many more styles. I produce well-rounded violin and piano students. This class will meet 4 times and will need to be renewed monthly by the parent.
I have taught students from the sweet little 4-6 year olds to fun-loving intermediate level violinists! It has been a joy to conduct community youth orchestras, lead violin camps, give private and group lessons and direct school violin programs. I believe in making learning fun, by playing games, moving, and doing challenges. Some of the students I have taught have performed in Carnegie Hall, attended top music conservatories, are professional fiddlers, and continue playing for life to bless their families and churches. I cater to your child's personal learning style and abilities. We progress as your child is ready so that they find a life-long love for their instrument.
Depending on your child's age and how advanced they are, practice should be from 20 minutes to an hour or more (for the intermediate level students) per day, 5-6 times a week.
string instrument, keyboard/piano, rosin, shoulder rest, music books
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Your child will need a string instrument as well as a piano or keyboard. I will let you know about books and accessories for their instrument. such as rosin, shoulder rests and more.
