Beginner - Intermediate Level
In our class we will start with the fundamentals of music and your instrument. This will include things such as. -Instrument parts (including accessories) -How to get into the proper playing position -Exploring the difference between pizzicato and arco -How to read notes on the staff -How to read rhythms For the structure of my class. -Introduction (for new students) -Discussion of any pervious experience/goals (new students) -Warm up (scales, note reading, etudes, bow development exercises) -Working through music selections (dynamics, articulations, phrasing, bowings, fingerings) -Closing discussion -Homework/Assignment for next week. Learning material. -Suzuki -Sound Innovation -Music genres that interest the student

-We will predominantly work from the Suzuki book series or The Sound Innovation books. -Any additional material used during our lessons will be shared via direct message if needed.

I am a classically trained violinist. I have studied the violin for 19 years and received my Bachelor of Music Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. I offer beginner to intermediate lessons for both violin, viola, and cello. I have worked as an Early Childhood Music Educator for El Sistema Colorado and as an Orchestra Director with the Colorado Chamber Outreach Program in the Douglas County School District.
