US Grade 2
In this class, we will dig into the content and instructional practices that students would receive within a brick and mortar classroom for their science block with a full curriculum. Our instructional focus will support learners who are working on a second grade level or students needing standards based support for a second grade student. We will work on the skills, content, vocabulary, hands on learning, experiments, and standards students will need to master during their second grade academic year in science. Each class will follow a general pattern for instruction. Content and experiments will be able to build upon previous lessons and standards, but each class will have a stand alone focus. I love to utilize open conversation and responses during class and students are welcome to stay off of mute (as long as there isn't an excess amount of noise disturbance). I strive to use mute only to help with background noise. Classroom management techniques are used to keep class engaging, respectful, and a kind -uplifting place. Class Flow: -Welcome (meet and greet with the teacher) - Introduction to content, vocabulary, and skill of that day with the visual support of google slides. - Class content learning, physical movements for memory reinforcement, and discussions with the visual support of google slides. -Application of content on a foldable, journal entry, notes page, experiment, or hands on learning craft/ activity with the visual support of google slides and step by step instructions. -Summary and goodbye (with the teacher and class). Students are able to come an go within the course all year as long as there is an opening for enrollment. Resources and a list of needed materials for the week will be sent out in advanced if there is a printing need for resources (worksheets, foldables, vocabulary cards) 🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎 Class Framework 2024- 2025: 1st Semester to begin (week of) August 12, 2024. 1 week off at Thanksgiving (November 25-29), 1st Semester to End December 20. Teacher expertise and credentials
Florida Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
I’m a compassionate and charismatic teacher who loves to teach! I have taught Kindergarten through 5th grade students for the last 13 years. In that time, I have been a general education teacher in the public schools setting for 8 years and specialized as a reading coach to my school for an additional two years. I have been teaching online since February 2020. I have been a full-time Outschool teacher since June 2020. I’m certified to teach Elementary education from Kindergarten to 6th grade. I absolutely love teaching First Grade and I am so excited to extend into Second Grade to continue the learning journey! After the transformation year of First Grade, Second Grade brings ownership, depth, and a deeper understanding of learning to science inquirers and investigations. I have taught these lessons in the public school setting with many students who have mastered the content and on Outschool for 2 years. Now, I’m looking forward to sharing this fun class with your wonderful student!
