In this 8-week course students will explore patterns, number permanence, place value, patterns in numbers, addition facts through ten, comparing numbers, experiment with various number models, and learn to count dimes, nickels, and pennies.

This course is the first of four sessions and is designed for students ready to learn math at the second grade level. Students should be able to write and count to 100, skip counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s, and be able to follow along with on-screen instruction. They should also know how to annotate, use the chat feature, and pin videos on Zoom. Students will be able to identify and describe patterns, strengthen number sense and number permanence, master addition facts through ten, utilize number models, explain place value to the tens position, show patterns in numbers, identify numbers as being greater than or less than other numbers, and count dimes, nickels, and pennies up to $1.00.
