Welcome to Shopping with Barbie: Toy Shop! 🧸 🪁 During this class, students will learn Grade 1 math subjects in a fun and interactive way! 🌸 Each student will have the opportunity to shop from the toy shelves with Barbie 🌸Practice counting, addition, and subtraction 🌸Students will answer questions related to number identification and number comparison 🌸Students will also have the chance to practice writing some numbers ✨Keep in mind that we will be working only with numbers between 1 and 20 in all activities.✨ This class is open to everyone between the ages of 5 and 7 years old. Before enrolling, students should have a basic familiarity with numbers 1–20, addition and subtraction. However, this class is designed to help your child become more comfortable and confident with these numbers so they can progress further in their learning!🏅 The Grade 1 content I teach in all my classes are based on the BC curriculum. Learners are welcome to bring along their favourite Barbie to share in class at the start of the lesson!🧍🏼♀️I look forward to meeting your child for a fun-filled math adventure! ** It is my goal to help every student feel welcome and respected in my classes, so please take a moment to go over the class agreements with your child before this lesson begins. 🌷 Class Agreements: 🌷 Please avoid stereotyping any students in class. My experience working with youth began in 2011 when I was hired as an Office Leader at Reaching Our Outdoor Friends (ROOF), an organization that assisted youth in need who were at risk of homelessness. ROOF provided support to youth with work experience, shelter, and food. I was employed in their Street Designs program, where I was responsible for hiring and supervising youth between the ages of 16 and 24. In Street Designs, we created t-shirts from personal artwork and manufactured buttons, tote bags, keychains, mouse pads, etc.
Currently, I'm a mother to a wonderful 8-year-old and homeschool them year-round. I’ve been homeschooling for 2 years and also taught them home lessons during their preschool years. I love teaching and creating fun lessons both at home and in my online work.
My teaching experience combines the home lessons I create with my professional work. I tutor students at the Grade 3 and 4 levels in Math and English. I also support a diabetic child in Grade 1 to ensure their safety while they participate in class lessons. Additionally, I offer support as needed to Grade 4 students in Math and English during their part-time classes, contributing to their blended learning experience in homeschooling.
