Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 8
Students will learn Pre-Algebra in this 16-week course, ideal for those preparing for Algebra 1 or Algebra Foundations. Topics include factors, patterns, ratios, expressions, equations, functions, and more. Khan Academy and interactive discussions enhance learning. Weekly tests and homework provided. Individual tutoring available.

The first 50 minutes of class will involve discussing the topic and solving problems together and individually. We use Khan Academy, a free online learning website. The last 5 minutes are dedicated to questions, homework, and previewing the next class.
Students will learn through group discussions and interactions, with worksheets provided by me. We utilize Zoom tools for problem-solving. I provide all handouts and diagrams. Khan Academy is used for extra practice inside and outside of class.

Note: I will wait for 10 minutes before ending each Zoom meeting. Please be punctual.

Before taking this class, students should have a solid understanding of fractions, decimals, addition, multiplication, division, subtraction, and integers, which are typically covered before Algebra 1. If needed, I recommend reviewing these topics before joining.

Weekly unit tests and homework assignments are given for additional practice. It's crucial for students to practice outside of class to fully grasp concepts, considering the fast-paced nature of this course.
Learning Goals
Learners will master pre-algebra, boost problem-solving skills, enhance techniques, and improve critical thinking. They'll prepare for Algebra 1, develop effective study habits, and apply math to real-life situations with personalized feedback.
