Beginner Level
Getting ready for Pre-Algebra? Let's slay it together! This ongoing course is designed to engage students to the concepts of Pre-Algebra and provide practice and experimentation in the fundamental principles of Algebra. This ongoing course emphasizes problem solving and critical thinking skills, while also providing a solid foundation in: - arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division with various types of numbers); - converting, simplifying, and manipulating with numbers (fractions, decimals, percentages, exponents, whole numbers, integers, rational numbers); - creating equations Please note: Learners should have a solid understanding of maths through Grade 6, and be enrolled in a pre-Algebra class currently or within the next 6 months. This class covers all major topics in Pre-Algebra, but it does so in a less-extensive manner than a full course. * Week 1- Common Factors, Greatest Common Factor, Least Common Multiple * Week 2- Prime Numbers and Prime Factorization * Week 3- Scientific Notation, Exponents, Square Roots * Week 4- Pythagorean Theorem * Week 5- Rate, Ratio, and Proportions * Week 6- Equations, Expressions, and Variables * Week 7- Problem-solving * Week 8- Inequalities * Week 9- Linear Equations * Week 10- Graphing Linear Equations and Inequalities
