In this 1-day class students will explore the basics of photography. We will: * contemplate and discuss what makes for a great photograph * review the basics of photo composition * review and discuss my top tips for creating powerful photos * analyze several images from my portfolio, getting behind-the-scenes tips and tricks At the end of this class families will receive a painstakingly-curated PDF filled with links to educational content from award-winning photographers from around the world. This PDF covers photography skills from basic to advanced and is organized into sub topics such as composition, aperture, focal length, light sources, etc. This document also includes a written summary of the tips covered in class. For students wanting to dig deeper into the art and science of photography, this PDF will provide many hours of exploration and study.

I’ve been shooting and studying photography for over 20 years. I briefly studied photojournalism in college, and I’ve shot several photo sessions for paying clients. Mainly, I’m just a passionate amateur photographer that loves to teach others.
