#### Class Experience

`In this class, the student will build their number sense and number literacy. This is a beginner level class. This class is paced slowly. The exercises will be repetitive. This helps with retaining information. Each week the students will focus on a different concept area. We will start with counting by 1's, 2's, 5's, and 10's. We will use several different strategies. We will use a hundreds chart to help with this concept. While we learn 1-1 counting, the student will need something in front of them to count. I like to use mini-erasers! We will also focus on adding and subtracting up to 20. One of the classes will focus on how to read a calendar. We will discuss what a calendar helps us learn. We will also practice grouping and number recognition.`

I teach Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies for Elementary aged students. I have taught in a formal classroom for the last five years. Two of those years were spent with first graders and the rest were spent with kindergarten kids.

I believe that kids learn best when they are interested in the subject matter. I like to get to know the students personally before jumping into a lesson. I like to relate the lesson back to their personal lives to keep the student engaged.

I am so excited to get started!```
