In this class, the student will build their number sense and number literacy. This is a beginner level class. This class is paced slowly. The exercises will be repetitive. This helps with retaining information. Each week the students will focus on a different concept area. We will start with counting by 1's, 2's, 5's, and 10's. We will use several different strategies. This class is taught in English.
Students will build their number literacy and number sense.
For certain weeks, the learner will need something to count. They will need at least 30 of these objects. They can use counting cubes, mini erasers, or pom poms. You can get any of these things at target or walmart. There will also be a hand out for the first classes. This will be posted in the classroom the week before class begins.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
