US Grade 1 - 2
In this semester course, students will learn a new phonics pattern. This is the 2nd part to Phonics Rules! The first week, we will review previous phonics patterns. The second week we will focus on digraphs. The third week we will focus on diphthongs. The fourth week we will focus on vowel teams. The fifth week will focus on silent letters. The sixth week will focus on l blends and r blends. The seventh week will focus on the s blends. The last week will focus on reviewing patterns and rules learned during the the previous weeks. For certain patterns/rules, we may extend the first lesson over two days. Students will need a sheet of blank paper, pencil, and any sort of coloring instrument for Wednesdays and Thursdays. Weekly Breakdown: On Monday, I will introduce the rule or pattern. We will brainstorm together words that match the rule or pattern. On Tuesday, we will practice using these words in sentences and play games based on the patterns we are learning. On Wednesday, we will have an assignment to be completed. This may be a form of what I call a spelling dictionary and drawing pictures based on brainstormed words. On Thursday, we will review the assignment and go over any mistakes made. We will also go over any more questions that may have come up during the learning week. The entire class will follow this breakdown. We start with the rule, brainstorm, complete an assignment, and review. Please be sure to check the classroom for announcements and changes to the schedule.

Supply List
For most meetings, the learner will need something to write with and something to write on. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, students will need crayons, pencil, and paper. If students need an additional resource, it will be posted in the classroom.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
