Come learn how to make the tastiest cake pops! Over this four lesson long self-paced class (NO LIVE CLASS SESSIONS), we will learn how to make cake pops, brownie pops, Oreo truffle pops, and rainbow cake pops! We’ll also learn several decorating techniques over the course of the class to make our cake pops not only taste amazing, but look amazing too! Step by step videos will be available for each cake pop, and you will be able to make them on your own schedule. Although we will not meet in person, I make my instruction videos very thorough, and I am always available to answer questions in the classroom or via a message.
Syllabus
4 Lessons
over 4 WeeksLesson 1:
The Basic Cake Pop
We’ll first learn how to doctor up a boxed cake mix with a few extra ingredients to make it taste absolutely amazing. Then we'll learn how to turn the cake into cake pops by shaping them into balls, attaching the cake pop stick, and covering them in melted chocolate. Students will also be encouraged to post a video of their cake pops and share how it went.
Lesson 2:
Peanut Butter Oreo Cake Pops
We're going to whip up some ridiculously tasty chocolate and peanut butter cake pops this week. We'll make Oreo truffles for the inside, and a delicious peanut butter coating for the outside. Yum!! Students are also always encouraged to share a photo or video of their cake pops.
Lesson 3:
Brownie Cake Pops
This week, I'll be sharing my favorite brownie recipe with you in order to make our delicious brownie pops. Just like before, we'll add the cake pop stick and melted chocolate so they look like a cake pop. Only there'll be a fudgy, yummy brownie inside this time! We'll also have a decorating competition to see who can be the most creative, most colorful, etc in their cake pop decorating. Again, students are also always encouraged to share a photo or video of their cake pops.
Lesson 4:
Rainbow Cake Pops
Get ready for some color! This week, we'll turn the inside AND outside of our cake pops into a delightfully colorful dessert. The inside will be multi-colored cake, and the outside will be a swirled multi-colored chocolate coating. Beautiful and oh so delicious! We'll finish off by sharing which recipe or decorating technique was our favorite, and any ideas we'd like to try in the future.
Other Details
Parental Guidance

Also please be aware that different brands of hot chocolate may contain allergens such as dairy. Also, we will be using oreos which contain gluten. However, you can easily find gluten free oreos as a replacement.

A more specific supply list will be available upon enrollment. Here are the general supplies you'll need: Chocolate chips or melting chocolate, cake pop sticks, rubber spatula, microwave safe bowl, microwave safe plate, oreos, sprinkles, flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, eggs, cake mix, small ziploc bag or piping bag, powdered sugar, butter, milk

Bachelor's Degree in Education from Brigham Young University
Hello there! My name is Jaime and I love to bake, cook, dance, and watercolor. I can't wait to share these skills with you in my Outschool courses!
I have a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in ESL. I have taught in classrooms from kindergarten through 5th grade, and I love making learning fun and engaging!
I'm a work-at-home mom of 3 cute kids and 1 energetic pup. I speak 2 foreign languages (Spanish & Portuguese) and have lived in 3 different countries (USA, China, & Cape Verde). I’m a big Harry Potter fan (go Hufflepuff!), and I have an odd knack for being able to remember random movie quotes. I’ve also wanted to be a teacher since I was very little, and I absolutely love teaching here on Outschool!
