Class experience

4 lessons//4 Weeks
 Week 1
Lesson 1
The Basic Cake Pop
We’ll first learn how to doctor up a boxed cake mix with a few extra ingredients to make it taste absolutely amazing. Then we'll learn how to turn the cake into cake pops by shaping them into balls, attaching the cake pop stick, and covering them in melted chocolate. Students will also be encouraged to post a video of their cake pops and share how it went.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Peanut Butter Oreo Cake Pops
We're going to whip up some ridiculously tasty chocolate and peanut butter cake pops this week. We'll make Oreo truffles for the inside, and a delicious peanut butter coating for the outside. Yum!! Students are also always encouraged to share a photo or video of their cake pops.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Brownie Cake Pops
This week, I'll be sharing my favorite brownie recipe with you in order to make our delicious brownie pops. Just like before, we'll add the cake pop stick and melted chocolate so they look like a cake pop. Only there'll be a fudgy, yummy brownie inside this time! We'll also have a decorating competition to see who can be the most creative, most colorful, etc in their cake pop decorating. Again, students are also always encouraged to share a photo or video of their cake pops.
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Rainbow Cake Pops
Get ready for some color! This week, we'll turn the inside AND outside of our cake pops into a delightfully colorful dessert. The inside will be multi-colored cake, and the outside will be a swirled multi-colored chocolate coating. Beautiful and oh so delicious! We'll finish off by sharing which recipe or decorating technique was our favorite, and any ideas we'd like to try in the future.
A more specific supply list will be available upon enrollment. Here are the general supplies you'll need:

Chocolate chips or melting chocolate, cake pop sticks, rubber spatula, microwave safe bowl, microwave safe plate, oreos, sprinkles, flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, eggs, cake mix, small ziploc bag or piping bag, powdered sugar, butter, milk
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be using the microwave to melt chocolate (or stove top if they do not have a microwave). Parental supervision is recommended.

Also please be aware that different brands of hot chocolate may contain allergens such as dairy. Also, we will be using oreos which contain gluten. However, you can easily find gluten free oreos as a replacement.
