US Grade 6 - 9
(**This course has 2 prerequisites. Please see below.**) Want to learn the basics of piloting an airplane? This is the course for you! Using an online, browser-based flight simulator (no download required), the instructor will teach you basic airplane maneuvers such as takeoff, climb, level-off, turns, and descents. Learn how aircraft instruments work and how to use them in controlling an airplane. Learn about the atmosphere and its effects on flight. Master the basics of "pitch and power." Learn and apply the "control and performance" technique in a hands-on flight environment. Learn and use standard pilot terminology. Using screen-sharing, the instructor will demonstrate each maneuver while explaining it, then coach the students as each practices exercises designed to master the techniques. This is a fun and highly engaging course aimed at the young aviation enthusiast. Students will graduate with an understanding of key theories and practices of flight. This course has two prerequisites: 1. Aviation Science: The 4 Forces of Flight 2. Stunt Pilot: How Pilots Make Airplanes Do What They Want Altenately, Aviation Science - Self Paced Class: Introduction to Aerodynamics, will satisfy both perequisites.
