In this one-time class, students will be introduced to the areas of managing a home while gaining tools/skills for tackling each area of home care. Learners will be provided a fill-in PDF printable sheet to aid in remembering these tools when they are able to manage their one homes. Here are the basic 8 areas of Home Economics, we will discuss: Clothing: Organizing laundry loads & basics of clothing care Budget: How to organize money to successfully run the Home Economy Home Decorating: Tips for creating an environment that appeals to our senses & well-being. Meal Plans: organizing grocery shopping & creating/using recipes. Cleaning & Home Maintenance: Learn ways to care for the home & how to organize routine care Landscaping & Gardening: Learn about caring for outside spaces. Transportation: Learn what is involved in caring for personal vehicles & explore alternatives in transportation Time & Tasks: different ways to keep track of them. Classes are taught in a visual slideshow presentation, then discussion and Q&A. Classes are about an hour long, and it is a good idea to print out sample forms in the classroom so students can follow along, take notes, and build a reference book. As a Professional Interior Designer, Certified Health Coach and home-based instructor, I love teaching others about home management & how they can create environments that increase their well-being. My college degree (BA) is in Environmental Design: Architecture, Interior and Landscape Design with years of field experience working with clients to create their homes. What I have learned professionally & personally is there is no one right way to create a home. People need to be able to know the tools & options for managing their homes, so they can personalize it to them.
