In the first week we will learn the names of the seven continents and where they are located. Each week thereafter will be devoted to a single continent. In the first half of each class students will learn more about the highlighted continent, some larger islands included as part of the continent, and major geographical facts about each one. - Students will practice identifying the continents. Students will also learn about some major facts and geographical characteristics of each continent. Students will practice note-taking Students will enjoy playing a game to see how much they remember from the lesson.
I have been teaching for more than 45 years. I especially enjoy teaching social studies and science to kids and helping them to gain understanding and develop curiosity about the topics presented. I have a BS in Education and additional education credentials, including graduate courses in Early Childhood Special Education. I have been teaching online since 2004.

Frequency: includedDetails: Participation in the game with contribution of correct answers is used as a weekly assessment. At the end of the course in week 8 students will participate in a group assessment.
Each student should come to class with paper and pencil for note-taking. It is helpful for students to have a globe or world map to refer to during class.
