In this one-time class students will learn how the magic 'e' helps them to know what vowel sound to use when decoding CVCe words. This class will concentrate on learning how to pronounce the CVCe words only. The teacher will allow students to tell a little about themselves in order to put the kids at ease. We will start with an introduction of the function of the silent "e". From there, we will practice adding silent 'e' to CVC words to show the different vowel sounds in similar words. ...

I believe children learn best through play and fun. For forty plus years, I have relied upon this knowledge to help young children learn. In my experience, kids want to read, but sometimes the mechanics seem overwhelming. Breaking reading down into bite-sized pieces, where kids experience success, is the key to igniting a passion for reading and learning. I received my education degree from Asbury University and did my Early childhood graduate work at Pittsburg state University.
