In this one time course, students will learn interesting information about 8 different, interesting monkeys found in different parts of the world. We start off with understanding the differences between new world and old world monkeys. This lesson integrates animal science vocabulary as the students are learning about the monkeys. We will look at geography as the students learn where the monkeys can be found To create a welcoming atmosphere for all, this course is NOT about evolution, creation, or any other focus on how they became the way that they are. We are only focusing on learning about the monkeys themselves. This lesson’s presentation is full of beautiful pictures and interesting information that the students will be able to discuss, react, and respond to. The students will learn about these following monkeys: Capuchin monkey, Howler monkey, Vervet monkey, Grivet monkey (part of the vervet monkey group), Proboscis monkey, Mandrill monkey, Baboon monkeys, and Tamarin Monkeys.

Welcome! My name is Kristin, and I am so excited to meet your learner(s)! I am a certified teacher with a B.S. Ed. in Early Childhood Education and in Special Education. I have many years of both classroom teaching and online teaching experience. Outside of Outschool, I am a business owner and I was a horse riding instructor. My philosophy of teaching is not just imparting knowledge to the learner. Instead, I believe that it more important to inspire learners to love learning, while imparting new knowledge. It is the love of learning that will drive a person to grow, succeed, and inspire others. My classroom is a safe place for all learners of all abilities. I am very experienced in accommodating the needs and preferences of each learner. As a teacher, it is my job to make sure that all students are learning, encouraged, and successful in my classroom. As a teacher, I have taught all classroom subjects, therefore, I have a variety of class options. My focus is on literature, life skills, nature, history, and geography. Beyond teaching, some of my personal passions include horseback riding (English and Western styles), reading, playing guitar, dancing, training dogs, learning new languages, and traveling. What is your learner’s passion? I love to be able to incorporate students' interests into their learning experience. I am always open to hearing your feedback, ideas, and preferences. I hope to see your learner(s) soon!
