Embark on a fluffy adventure with us as we learn about animals around the world with your favorite Squishmallows! Each class will include a warm welcome to both your child and their 'Mallow of choice. Since we're WILD about learning about animals, and we LOVE Squishmallows, your child is welcome to show off their Squishmallow during show and tell. Each week will feature a new animal, representing different habitats from around the globe. As your child cuddles with their favorite 'Mallow, we dive into the fascinating world of zoology. We will discuss the animals' habitats, characteristics, diets, and behaviors. Interactive fun includes seeing side-by-side pictures of both Squishmallows and the real-life animal of the week. We will also learn about the Squishmallows and talk about their attributes too, as we compare and contrast the real animals with their squishy counterparts. At the end of class, students will be able to design and color their own DIY (Design It Yourself) Squishmallow coloring page, using their new knowledge of the animal of the week. We will remind the students of the animals colors, their traits, and any other unique qualities they have as they re-create the animal in Squishmallow form. This hands-on approach not only teaches children about zoology but also nurtures empathy and a love for living creatures. Perfect for ages 4-9, our class is a safe, engaging environment where curiosity grows and imaginations soar. Join us for a huggable learning journey! SCHEDULING NOTE: I have 2 children that attend public elementary school, therefore I schedule my classes around their school holidays, breaks, and mandatory digital days. This explains why I have several random days throughout the year that I'm unable to teach. If your class is interrupted by my scheduling, I will be more than happy to transfer your child into another day/time for the same week so they don't miss out on any animal fun! SQUISH NOTE: Students who do not have a Squishmallow toy are more than welcome to attend, and are also permitted to bring a different stuffed animal to class. Please limit show and tell to only 1 plush toy. With any remaining time at the end of class, we will offer additional show and tell time. Learning Goals
While the main focus of this weekly club will be on allowing young animal enthusiasts to share their love of earths' coolest creatures, we will also be practicing important primary-age social and educational skills as we learn about habitats, adaptation, and other nature concepts. Using Squishmallows allows your child to have a huggable friend with them during class time, but to also learn more about the real animal that exists in the world around them. We hope this class helps to foster curiosity, wonder, and interest in the world around them, with an eye to honoring and protecting nature and its inhabitants.

From Miss Ashley: I have always loved to work with young children! Ever since I was a kid, I was very creative in coming up with unique ways of expressing myself. That uniqueness carried over into my adult life, and that is what brings me here today! I love being a part of a child’s yearn to learn and I believe that learning is always fun. I’m a mom to two amazing kiddos, both currently in elementary school. Before having my kids, I had 7 years experience in working with children primary-aged through elementary school. I was an assistant Pre-K teacher followed by working at various summer camps through my local Parks & Recreation department. I’ve worn many hats throughout life but my favorite one is being a mom. I love my wonderful husband, my amazing kiddos, my 3 crazy cats, sewing and gardening. I own more than 55 Squishmallows, including both animals, plants, and food ones. I own micro Squishmallows (2.5 inch) all the way up to the huge 24 inch 'Mallows! My favorites include Thompson the Armadillo, Sabino the Sugar Glider, and Hans the Hedgehog.
