This is not your typical zoology class! We will only be exploring the unusual, the weird, the crazyyyyy animals of the world! My goal is to pick animals students have never heard of before in an attempt to broaden their view of the animal kingdom. Each week I will introduce students to 4 new species of animals grouped into fun categories such as, "animals that glow, extinct animals, animals we wouldn't mind having as pets, and see-through animals!" In addition to the animals themselves, we will be covering a bit of their habitat and the geography in which they live! Please see the syllabus for a breakdown of weekly themes and animals! Students may join class at any time during the course. If joining late, I can send students the slideshow and videos of the animals they missed :)

Ocean animals
Dumbo octopus, goblin shark, bloodybelly comb jellys, and Costasiella sea slugs. 30 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
Jungle animals
Proboscis monkey, Amazon river dolphin, sun bears, and the tube-nosed Yoda bat. 30 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Snow animals
Wolverine, Canada lynx, the color-changing arctic hare, and muskox. 30 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Flying animals
Flying fish, Wallace's flying frogs, Vulturine Guineafowl, and Scarlet 'I'iwi. 30 mins online live lesson

Parental Guidance
We use Googledoc for organizing notes, Keynote for slideshows, and YouTube for fun interactive videos of the animals.
