Other Details
Parental Guidance
D&D is a role playing game and can have depictions of kidnaping, Fantasy violence and death. I will not go into gory details and keep all content similar to a pg13 rating.
We will be using Dndbeyond. This is a website that is used to help make and keep track of your DnD character sheet. Students can make a free account and it allows me to give the students access to all of the books I have online to help them make there characters.
Students will also need to make an account for the site roll20. This site will be used for battle maps and allows the students to be able to have there own character token and move them on the map.
Gamer tags will be used but students should not share there gamer tags with other students. If a student wants to share a gamer tag it must be done by a parent through outschool email.
Sources
Students will need to have a account for both DnDbeyond and Roll20. Both sites are free to use. Dndbeyond will let me share the books needed for character creation and has a dice roller function. https://www.dndbeyond.com
Roll20 will be used for Battle maps and visualization of the world around us. https://app.roll20.net
I do recommend a free addon extension to your web browser called Byeond20 that will link Dndbeyond to Roll20 directly so that everyone can see each others rolls. https://beyond20.here-for-more.info/install
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have played D&D for many years as a Dungeon Master. These means I run the games for other players and help them create there characters. The Dungeon Masters role is to guide the players as they play and make sure that everyone has a chance to participate. This requires knowing the rules and being able to keep the group focused on the game so that everything goes smoothly.
