US Grade 5 - 8
In taking Heroic Journeys #1 students will learn the following:
-what and how a role-playing game is played
-a brief history of the role-playing industry
-how to choose and create a character with which you can invest time and energy developing a high-level, multi-faceted hero about which you will be excited!
-how to play a typical D&D game including the mechanics of battle
-a sense of fair play and a positive attitude despite upsetting events during gameplay
-how to act and portray your hero in interactions with other characters
-how to look up rules, stats, and other important game details
I have had a long history of playing role-playing games since I was a young boy. I was enthralled with the vivid art, the opportunity for character building, and the chance to use my imagination with my friends and family. As an educator, I hope to bring my understanding of story structure to our sessions even if I am not serving as the dungeon master I can be there to provide guidance. My theatrical experience in acting, directing, and screenwriting will contribute to an environment that is challenging and constructive.
If you have any of your materials you may bring them to the group. However, if you do not have any do not worry as we will help provide all the information and material you will need to participate. We will utilize an online dice generator (for fairness) and there is also a character generator if you choose to create a somewhat randomized character. The only thing you may want to bring is paper, a pen, pencils, any personal costumes, and miniatures that you may wish to use.

We will also make use of the massive, free resource of Dungeons & Dragons Beyond found at the following URL:
