Class Experience

Current game progress: Starting out. Students will be able to pick the groups starting point and talk about what style of game they would preferer.

Dungeon and Dragons is a group story telling style Role Playing Game. That means that the players work together while playing the characters or personas that they have created to craft unique and fun filled story's

This is a open world Dungeon and Dragons game. That means that what ever the Student's would like to do from going on dungeon crawls, working as mercenaries, being spies and doing some political intrigue or saving a town and then becoming its leaders to rise up and make there own kingdom. What ever the group would like to do is game and as they craft there own story there actions will have a very real affect on the world at large.

In the first class we will start out at level 5 character's and figure out how the group knows each other. We will also pick a starting point for the campaign. All following games will be learner directed. I will leave updates in the class description so that new students can see what the games current progress is.

This is an ongoing D&D game that students are welcome to join and leave as they like. Although It is strongly recommended that students play every week to join in and enjoy the whole story. Student's who join later in a campaign will be integrated at the beginning for the session they join.

New students joining the campaign should say hello to the class before the next session so we can talk about there character and explain what to expect for there first class. Other Details

Parental Guidance
D&D is a role playing game and can have depictions of kidnaping, Fantasy violence and death. I will not go into gory details and keep all content similar to a pg13 rating. We will be using Dndbeyond. This is a website that is used to help make and keep track of your DnD character sheet. Students can make a free account and it allows me to give the students access to all of the books I have online to help them make there characters. Students will also need to make an account for the site roll20. This site will be used for battle maps and allows the students to be able to have there own character token and move them on the map.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have played D&D for many years as a Dungeon Master. These means I run the games for other players and help them create there characters. The Dungeon Masters role is to guide the players as they play and make sure that everyone has a chance to participate. This requires knowing the rules and being able to keep the group focused on the game so that everything goes smoothly.
