Beginner Level
We will learn how Dungeon and Dragons is played along with going over any special rules for this setting. Each player will learn how their character works; from character skills and abilities to role play, and character growth. The Tomb of Annihilation is a survival based exploration style D&D game where the group will have to face dangers from bad guys, wild animals, diseases and sickness. I do my best to keep it upbeat and fun, yet much of the story depends on what actions the players take. We will have run puzzles, a mix of fun/difficult combat and social encounters. The group may meet up with tribes of people, other explorers or even groups of crusading knights, and depending on their actions they can make good or bad relationships with those groups.
Learning Goals
The main goal is to have a good time playing D&D, yet we also will learn how to play D&D specifically. How to work as a team to overcome difficult situations or make decisions as a team.
Students are encouraged to roleplay if they feel comfortable with it. As they get into character students will learn how to see things from another perspective.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
This game will touch on death, player character death is a real possibility, sickness, lying, violence, and gore. I try to keep these to a minimum as I do not think it is necessary in order to have fun.
Pre-Requisites
If a Student has not played Dungeon and Dragons before, I have a Character Creation class that I would recommend they take, so that we can get their character ready to play and go over the rules. I am happy to set this class up any time.
