US Grade 1 - 4
Beginner - Advanced Level
In this engaging class, students will discover how to elevate their portrait photography skills and capture stunning images of friends, family, or even themselves! The class will begin with an overview of portrait photography and a brief image review. Students will learn four essential components for great portraits: lighting, pose, location, and composition. To maximize the learning experience, it’s highly recommended that students have a model to photograph during class—whether it’s a family member, friend, or even themselves using a timer if needed. Participants will have opportunities to share their photos with the group, fostering a supportive environment for feedback. By the end of the class, students will be encouraged to think creatively about locations for future portraits, inspiring their next photography adventure! Please note the minimum enrollment for all of our one-time classes is 1 learner so our one-time classes are never cancelled. If your learner would prefer to have class with more students, request a transfer at least 24 hours before your class.
Learning Goals
Students will learn four key elements of portrait photography: lighting, pose, location, and composition, equipping them with the skills to create compelling images.
Participants will actively photograph their chosen subjects during class, allowing for immediate application of techniques and constructive feedback from the instructor.
