1-2 hours per week. Class homework will be given weekly, and will involve assignments designed to reinforce the photography concepts covered in the weekly lesson, allowing students to apply and deepen their understanding through practical, hands-on experience. I kindly request that parents either send the student photos directly to me or have the student upload the photos to the Outschool classroom so that all images can be presented together and at the same quality.Assessment
In-class assessments involve students presenting their homework images at the beginning of each session. These presentations allow for immediate feedback and evaluation, ensuring that students receive constructive guidance as they apply and refine the photography techniques learned in the previous lesson.Class Experience
In this course, we will expand our knowledge of DLSR photography, exploring composition and some of the most popular types of photography! We will learn about the elements and principles of composition and how they work together to create amazing images. We will also practice using constructive criticism to analyze each other's work. This class is aimed at intermediate photographers who have a working understanding of manual mode. Prior to our first class, please confirm that your learner knows how these settings are controlled in their particular camera model. Each class will start with an engaging and informative presentation that includes lots of sample photos taken by the teacher. We will then brainstorm photo ideas together, and students will have the chance to ask any questions they may have. There will be a printout available for students summarizing all discussed techniques to help them during their photoshoots.
Learning Goals
Students will learn and apply both fundamental (rule of thirds, leading lines) and advanced (negative space, balance) composition techniques to enhance the visual impact of their photographs.Students will explore different types of photography, such as portrait, landscape, and street photography, understanding how composition techniques vary across these genres and applying them in practice.Syllabus

Supply List
A DSLR or mirrorless camera, or other digital camera that can be put into manual mode si required. Please feel free to reach out if you are unsure as to whether or not your camera is suitable. A tripod and wired/wireless shutter release remote is highly recommended.

Hi there! I'm Sabrina.
I live in Ontario, Canada with my furry and scaly companions. Specifically, I share my home with 4 cats and a wide variety of geckos!
Photography and animals are my two greatest passions in life. I have been taking photos for as long as I can remember, and over time it evolved into my career. I went to Sheridan College, specializing in photography. I now operate my own business where I specialize in photographing weddings, families, pets, newborns, and more!
I am excited to teach classes all about how to take a great photo, both technically and creatively.
Secondary to my photography business, I have a passion for animals of all kinds. I run a small reptile rescue out of my home, focusing mainly on leopard geckos. I take in a variety of different reptiles in various states of health. I am dedicated to learning as much as possible about these creatures and sharing my knowledge with others so they can properly care for and appreciate them. Hopefully, this will reduce the need for rescues like mine in the future.
As an educator, I believe that the classroom should be a place where students can have fun and engage in interactive experiences. My classes are designed to spark curiosity and inspire excitement in students. I am eager to help each student discover their passions and talents
