Creative Pet Photography is a live, interactive four-week course designed to help students develop their pet photography skills. In this course, students will learn how to capture pets in different environments, how to photograph pets with people, and how to create themed photo shoots with costumes and accessories. Each week, students will learn new techniques, engage in discussions, and complete photography challenges during class time.

Learners will have the opportunity to share their photos during class for real-time feedback and suggestions from the instructor. By the end of the course, students will have the skills to take creative, high-quality photos of their pets and enhance their photography techniques.

This live Zoom class offers a dynamic and interactive learning experience. Each week, students will join a live session where the instructor will introduce a new photography technique and guide the class through hands-on activities. Students will practice taking photos during class and share their work for real-time feedback. The live format allows for group discussions, peer interaction, and personalized guidance from the teacher, making it a highly engaging environment.

This course is offered by two of our teachers - Erika Hatfield and Aaron Snyder.

4 Lessons
over 4 Weeks
Lesson 1:
Sit, stay, click
 Students will be introduced to different types of pet photography and learn how to capture pets using environment, lighting, attention, and patience. This lesson focuses on understanding the key elements that make pet photos engaging and natural.

Pets & people together
 This week covers the basics of photographing pets with people, with an emphasis on location, communication, group composition, and flexibility. Students will practice capturing moments that highlight the connection between pets and their owners.

Lesson 3:
Themes & costumes
 Students will explore themed pet photography, learning how to use accessories and props to create fun, creative images. The focus will be on planning, timing, placement, and managing distractions for successful themed shoots.

Lesson 4:
Pets in motion
 The final week teaches techniques for capturing pets in motion, whether running, jumping, or playing. Students will learn to use lighting, focus, angles, and camera/phone settings to produce sharp, action-packed images.

With a Master's in Special Education, Erika designs our courses to support diverse learners. Our hands-on, interactive lessons foster engagement, and we are open to accommodating any specific needs to ensure to ensure success.

Your learner may have ideas in this class that require an extra set of hands - be prepared that you may become your child's photography assistant.
