There will NOT be any homework for this class, but there may be worksheets students can work on after class is finished.Class Experience
This lesson will include a couple topics. The first will be self-reliance and the ability to make something in the kitchen. As we assemble and bake cookies we will practice with fractions including both measuring and comparing fractions. My class is a laid-back time for students to learn about math while making a yummy treat for a job well done. During this class, there will be many opportunities for conversation and interaction between the participants in class as we discuss fractions and what they mean to us. Students taking this class should have a basic understanding of fractions.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of fractions through visual representation and hands on experience in the kitchen. Students will be given the opportunity to add, subtract, and compare fractions throughout the lesson.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! Thank you for being here. I have taught in the public education system in the United States for 5 years. I have taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 4th grade. Along with this I have also taught ESL to students in China for 3 years. I have many months of experience substitute teaching in all grade levels K-12. I love the diversity between all grade levels. I am passionately dedicated to the education of ALL students no matter their personal circumstance by creating a classroom environment that is both positive and engaging where my students feel safe and loved. I believe that through teaching I can help encourage children to become their best self while achieving important educational goals. As a mentor to my students' learning, I understand and promote learning through technology, physical manipulative, and visual presentations to stimulate natural curiosity and excitement in my classroom. Although this hold true to my brick and mortar classrooms, these ideas and concepts are just the same in my Outschool classroom. I enjoy teaching many different subject areas including (but certainly not limited to) elementary math, reading, science, and social skills.
