In this 6 lesson course we will learn about creating Zentangles! I will be demonstrating the projects and techniques in a series of step-by-step videos & slideshows. Lesson 1: First we will start learning a variety of patterns. This lesson we will focus on patterns 1-6. This week features a printable handout students can use as a reference. Lesson 2: This lesson we will focus on patterns 7-10. This week features a printable handout students can use as a reference. Lesson 3: This lesson we will focus on patterns 11-16. This week features a printable handout students can use as a reference. Lesson 4: This lesson we will focus on patterns 17-22. This week features a printable handout students can use as a reference. Lesson 5: Now that we have many patterns to choose from we will create a drawing using our patterns. I will go over how to sketch and layout your final drawing. In this lesson we will first go over how to layout our space. Then we will use our pattern library to fill our design. Lesson 6: Take your art 3D! We will create an awesome 3D zentangle sculpture!

Students will learn 22 zentangle patterns that they will apply to two final projects- a drawing & sculpture.

I have taught high school art for 18 years! Last year I had the opportunity to teach middle school students remotely and loved it! I have taught a variety of courses over my career such as: Fine Arts 1 & 2, Introduction to Photography, Pottery 1 & 2, Introduction to Jewelry, Introduction to Crafts, Introduction to Sculpture, Design 1 & 2.
I believe creating art is a process. It takes making a mess, mistakes and trying again! Creating art is a method of communication with the world!
When I'm not creating art, I love cooking, reading, spending time with friends & family!
