**The price per session of this 2 day camp is discounted from the enrichment/ongoing version of this class. This has a very small max class size with a limit of 4 learners to allow the teacher to give more individualized attention to those learners to help each one improve and/or practice reading fluency and/or learn skills to help increase comprehension. The goal of this class is for learners to learn strategies to help them comprehend reading passages better and to use those strategies to be able to correctly answer questions about different types of passages. Another goal is to improve reading fluency as needed.
Over the years I have loved helping children and teens from 2 years old to 19 improve their speech, language, auditory, phonics, reading and brain fitness skills and much more. I meet my students where they are at their level. As I teach, I adjust to help reluctant learners as well as others who may need or want more challenge. I have decades of experience teaching each of these types of learners within the same class. I try to make my classes engaging and fun. I have a wide range of experience that includes teaching those on the autism spectrum, learning disabled students, add/adhd and many more areas of concern, as well as, experience teaching regular and gifted learners. I have found that patient encouragement in a structured and energetic yet relaxed classroom environment helps learners brains focus to receive information better and helps them become detail oriented.
Homework Offered
No homework completion is required. However, one or more optional practice worksheets might be available in the classroom after class. Helpful tips learned during class will also be available in the classroom after class.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

I will screen share the reading passage during class. Learners should have a pencil with an eraser or erasable pen and a sheet of paper in case it is needed for notes or to write answer choices to help with comprehension. Usually at least within 12-24 hours after the end of camp, learners will have the option to download and print out the reading passage(s) from the classroom as well as a practice sheet and helpful hints we discussed in class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
