**I might have 1:1 openings for this class not listed publicly OR will accept 2 learners in one time slot only if they are siblings/family. ***If you don't see a time listed that will work for your learner or if you see "There are no upcoming classes" posted on this class page, please send me your learner's preferred availability request. I would love to see if we can work out times. There are additional formats and lengths of classes listed at the bottom of this class description. Please either contact me if you don't see a day/time that will work for you; there might be other days/times available that are not visible on the class listing, or join the waitlist to receive notification when the full class time you're interested in becomes available and receive a quick note from me letting you know if I have additional availability not publicly listed. These tutoring sessions are private 1:1 sessions (or 1 on 2 for siblings/family) to help your child practice his/her phonics/sounds, reading fluency and comprehension, language and/or auditory skills and improve executive function skills. I incorporate some brain training with all of my learners. Just like physical exercise is beneficial for most people, brain training helps improve brain fitness for most of us. This helps improve areas of learning / memory, focus and communication. If your child speaks English as a second language, I am TESOL certified and can help him/her practice/learn English and practice correct pronunciation of English sounds/words. This class is not a one size fits all class, therefore specific details are not available at this time. Prior to the scheduled class time please answer the following question: What areas you would like to focus on during the class? A lesson customized for your child will be implemented to practice such topics as: identification (both written and auditory) and pronunciation of phonics sounds and/or reading skills and/or expressive/receptive language skills and/or auditory skills such as comprehension, memory, discrimination, etc. and/or brain fitness skills such as processing speed, balance etc. If you want to enroll more than 1 learner, please contact me. This class is NOT intended to be considered speech-language therapy. This is one-on-one tutoring to help your child practice areas they are struggling with or need practice. You are encouraged to seek formal speech-language therapy for your child outside of this platform at your child's school or with a licensed speech-language pathologist at a clinic or in a private setting if this is a concern. - ongoing/subscription once a week for 25 minutes ( https://outschool.com/classes/private-1-on-1-tutoring-reading-language-soundauditory-skills-25min-1xweek-g9JJb1bA ) or - ongoing/subscription once a week for 40 minutes ( https://outschool.com/classes/private-1-on-1-tutoring-reading-language-soundauditory-skills-40min-1xweek-ay19jjyC ) or -ongoing/subscription twice a week for 40 minutes (https://outschool.com/classes/private-1-on-1-tutoring-reading-language-soundauditory-skills-40min-2xweek-LH633Y2J ) or - four 25 minute sessions (can meet 4 times in one week or two times per week over two weeks or one time per week over four weeks): https://outschool.com/classes/private-tutoring-reading-language-soundauditory-skills-four-25-min-sessions-8rjImzBo or - four 55 minute sessions (we can discuss how many sessions per week): https://outschool.com/classes/private-tutoring-reading-language-soundauditory-skills-twelve-40-min-sessions-E7GfgQi1 or - I also offer a 25 minute one-time trial class ( https://outschool.com/classes/trial-11-tutoring-reading-language-soundauditory-skills-practice-1-time-7Cx1m9Ct ) ***IMPORTANT regarding 'MY' REFUND POLICY: My policy is different/more flexible than the standard recently changed Outschool refund policy regarding INITIAL enrollments for each section. I want to help families with their planning, and honestly this will help me with my planning as well. I understand that a lot of families prefer to book far enough in advance to guarantee a spot in a class as they plan ahead. I also realize that unexpected/unplanned events can change well intentioned plans. So, in order to help families who like to plan ahead, but also allow me the time to fill a space left empty after an unenrollment, I am willing to issue a full refund IF you need to withdraw your learner for any reason up to TWO WEEKS BEFORE the START DATE of this class. **When you withdraw, even if you receive an automated message from Outschool that you are not eligible for an automatic refund, please contact me directly immediately so I can submit the refund for you with Outschool. *REMEMBER, I must be notified by the person who enrolled the learner NO less than TWO WEEKS PRIOR (14 days prior) to the class start date so I have time to try to fill that space left empty with another learner. After that point, the standard Outschool refund policy will apply. Please check out my profile page for additional infomation regarding absences and recordings. Contact me with questions. Thank you.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Alabama Teaching Certificate in Special Education
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Pathologist from University of South Alabama
Over the past 31+ years I have helped children and teens from ages 2 to 19 improve their speech, language, auditory, phonics, reading, and brain fitness skills and much more. I have a wide range of experience that includes teaching those on the autism spectrum, learning disabled students, add/adhd and many more areas of concern, as well as, experience teaching regular and gifted learners. I have found that patient encouragement in a structured and energetic yet relaxed classroom environment help students brains focus to receive information better and helps them become detail oriented students. I have spent many years enjoying my time working in both public and private schools and most recently in a Wellness Center providing brain fitness training. I also hold a TESOL certificate and teach English as a Second Language (ESL) online. During 15 of those years, I loved also homeschooling my own children (most grades K2-12) until they graduated high school. During our homeschool years, I helped teach a variety of classes to homeschool students of all ages who were involved in co-ops. I have both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology and received a Class A (Master's level) teaching certification N-12. I am also an Interactive Metronome Certified Provider (IMCP). Interactive Metronome (IM) is a computer based brain fitness training program.
