I enjoy helping my learners feel relaxed and encouraged during our sessions. I do my best to help your child have fun while learning. This usually helps increase comprehension and participation. I adjust as needed durng our sessions to help learners get the most benefit out of our time together as I help meet needs and/or provide enrichment in any of the following areas:

- learn or practice identification of letters and phonics sounds (both written and auditory)
- pronunciation of phonics sounds
- reading fluency and comprehension skills
- expressive/receptive language skills
- auditory processing skills such as: comprehension, memory, discrimination, etc.
- listening skills / following directions
- brain fitness skills (great skills for everyone to learn and practice!)
- executive function
- learn/practice English as a second language.

This class is not a one size fits all class, therefore specific details are not available at this time. Prior to the scheduled class time please answer the following question:

Over the past 33+ years I have helped children and teens from ages 2 to 19 improve their speech, language, auditory, phonics, reading, and brain fitness skills and much more. I have a wide range of experience that includes teaching those on the autism spectrum, learning disabled students, add/adhd and many more areas of concern, as well as, experience teaching regular and gifted learners. I have found that patient encouragement in a structured and energetic yet relaxed classroom environment help students brains focus to receive information better and helps them become detail oriented students. I have spent many years enjoying my time working in both public and private schools and online as well as in a Wellness Center providing brain fitness training. During 15 of those years, I loved also homeschooling my own children (most grades K2-12) until they graduated high school. During our homeschool years, I helped teach a variety of classes to homeschool students of all ages who were involved in co-ops. I have both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology and received a Class A (Master's level) teaching certification N-12. I hold TESOL certification to teach English as a second language. I am also an Interactive Metronome Certified Provider (IMCP). Interactive Metronome (IM) is a computer based brain fitness training program. Although I cannot provide IM services on Outschool, I can teach other brain fitness strategies and exercises I use in my IM sessions. I enjoy teaching online and would love to have your learner in my class.
