US Grade Kindergarten - 7
Welcome to individualized reading lessons with Ms. Mariah! I am an experienced early childhood educator and reading interventionist. This class helps build a strong foundation for reading success and set your learner on the path to becoming a lifelong reader! I have designed this program to meet the needs of your child. In each lesson, I focus on essential reading beginning with phonics and increasing vocabulary. I will assess your learner’s decoding, reading fluency and comprehension skills. I will support your learner in developing strong foundational reading skills that will support their academic success. I take a personalized approach to reading instruction. I recognize that every child is unique, with varying abilities and learning styles. I conduct an initial assessment to identify each student's strengths and areas that need improvement. This assessment will guide the development of an individualized learning plan for each student. I design systematic lessons to teach decoding skills. I integrate variety of effective teaching strategies and resources to meet the diverse needs of your young readers. Phonics instruction forms the foundation, enabling students to understand the relationships between letters and sounds. Vocabulary expansion activities will enhance their word knowledge, while targeted comprehension exercises will sharpen their understanding of text. I design lessons to keep students actively engaged in reading. I will employ interactive teaching methods and use colorful, engaging visuals, hands-on activities, songs and games to make learning fun! Throughout your sessions, I will assess your learner's progress. I will use regular check-ins and assessments to track your learner's growth. The assessments will help me identify areas where your learner needs additional focus. I have a flexible approach and adapt lessons to your learner's interest. I use age-appropriate, fun books and literature to inspire joy for stories and reading.
