I am a retired public school Principal who has taught and written curriculum for grades K-12 in all subject areas. I have taught learners from grades K-12, Special needs learners, adults, ESL learners from several countries it seems for most of my life. Teaching children is what I love to do! And teaching learners of all ages to read and write is my passion. I personally am an avid reader and have been since I was a little girl hearing my Mom say, "Lights out in there. It's way past your bedtime" as I read with a flashlight under my covers. I love to work with children in all subject area [reading, writing, science, cooking to name a few] but teaching them to read and write in particular is probably my favorite. Seeing the "lights" come on as a learner "gets it" is what I love most and love being a part of that experience. I've done a little writing myself. Nothing published. I've written short stories for kids, short stories, poems and songs, both lyrics and the music. I love writing! I am very happy to be teaching on the Outschool platform and look forward to my passion for reading and writing, rubbing off on your learner.
