Fun and Engaging Private 30 Minute Reading and Writing Tutoring

This is a one-to-one personal tutoring session with a certified and experienced elementary and middle school reading teacher, plus a certified ESL teacher. I am happy to work with your student on pre-reading skills, elementary reading and writing skills, or advanced reading/novel studies, and/or writing tasks. Each class will be specifically designed to meet the needs of the learner. When you enroll, you will be sent a welcome message asking questions about what you would like me to focus on. Then I will get to work designing an individualized plan for your learner. 

Ideas of focus: beginner reading, comprehension, fluency, phonics, spelling, short answer writing, novel studies, paragraph or essay writing, homework help, or a combination of skills. I have hands-on experience with special needs, and struggling readers, as well. 

As a certified teacher with many years of experience teaching in a classroom and online, I have multiple ways to teach different concepts, allowing learners to stay engaged, develop a love of learning, and exceed learning outcomes. I use games, activities, and books to help keep students engaged. My goal is to make high-quality learning fun, fostering lifelong learning habits.  I have taught multiple grades in elementary and middle school, so I have the ability to scaffold instruction to meet many different academic needs. 

For reading, I use Learning A to Z for guided and leveled practice, along with book studies, and other mentored texts. For writing, I utilize many of my own classroom created resources.  I follow the writing process, teaching students to pre-write, draft, edit and revise, and publish a final copy. This sets learners up to be great writers throughout their academic career. I am also happy to assist with homework or other required assignments.
