Writing with Grams (Grammar+ Story Writing) course uses elements of a story with parts of speech to help students increase reading comprehension and writing skills. This course will meet for one week to review Nouns, Pronouns, Adjectives, Verbs, Adverbs, Prepositions, and Conjunctions along with elements of a story (characters, point of view, setting, plot, conflict and resolution). We will define and identify a part of speech, break down grammar rules into vocabulary, sentence structure while exploring the elements of stories. Our Nearpod assignments with class structure R2D2 (read, reflect, display and do) will allow students to work together to build confidence in reading and writing. The course schedule is: Day One Characters – Types of Nouns (Abstract, Concrete, Common, Proper, Collective) Day Two Point of View - Pronouns and Verb (Subject/Verb Agreement) Day Three Setting - Nouns and Prepositions Day Four Plot/Sequence of Events - Adverbs and Adjectives Day Five Conflict/Resolutions – Parts of speech review
